For the last couple of years, when we started to have a broadband connection, I also started downloading a lot TV series, movies and animes for my personal entertainment. I could say that I am a collector but I am not addicted nor a hardcore download-er, promoting piracy. I only maximize my broadband connection by using a low-power consumption computer, downloading 24/7. I only download based on forums, especially the top rated series, and programs recommended by my friends.

• 10 Things I Hate About You *
• 24



A series that would take your breath away. To give you an overview, the whole season happened at exactly one day, literally. One hour per episode is shown. Jack Bauer, the leading character, is a person with millions of lives (watch it, and you’ll know what I mean), deciphering and deducing terrorists’ actions and plans against the US government. A series full of guns, spies, intelligence, betrayal, terrorists, sacrifices, death, etc. I suggest that when you watch this series, you must have at least a whole season completed first before watching it so you won’t feel unsettled or hanging by it. 24 is very INTENSE, thrilling and really exciting.

• Chuck



The story revolves around Chuck Bartowski, the so-called intersect, meaning that the data of CIA and NSA are implanted in his brain. So, Sarah Walker and Agent Casey is sent to protect him from danger. Though I’m not exactly a fan of this series but I find this series really funny, interesting and Yvonne Strzechowki as Sarah Walker hot and sexy :) I also recommend this series to everyone, an action-romantic-comedy type.:)

• Desperate Housewives



I’m still in season 2 right now, and currently season 6 is being aired. So I can’t exactly criticize the whole series but here are my comments. I think this is a PG-13 series, mostly talking about sex, love, revenge, hatred, family and any other issues in our society. Mostly, revolving about the lives of five women and their families, decisions they make and secrets they keep. Eva Longoria and Terry Hatcher!! woot! :D

• Flash Forward



This series just debuted this year, 2009 and as the title says, the story is revolving around the flash forwards or a bit of everyone’s future, six months after the sudden blackout that had happened. It started as one agency in US investigating, compiling stories of different people, looking for answers on how did the flash forward happened, who are the people responsible behind it, why did it happen, etc. Nonetheless, I think this will be a good series and hoping that it could take Lost’s place :)

• Glee



This also just started this year, 2009. A great musical series, I love all the songs, the remakes, the mashups, etc., and that’s all I could say. Glee is a club started by a former, frustrated member of the 80′s. This is a two thumbs up series too!:)

• Gossip Girl



Leighton Meeser is really, really pretty, hot and sexy! I watch this series, sometimes only because of her. I’m not a fan of high-school drama nor hierarchy in the society but this series revolves around the “Gossip Girl”, a blog site that gives an update (by anyone) regarding the scandalous lives of Manhattan’s Elite, containing pictures, judgments, proofs etc.

• Greek *
• Grey’s Anatomy



For me, this is the best love story series of all that I have watched. In the beginning of the series, different lives with unique personalities are put into one hospital doing their internship (surgery), discovering each and everyone’s personalities, making friends and falling in love with each other. Up until now, majority of the cast are still in the show, one reason why I think that the series is great, oops, one of the greatest series.

• Heroes



This is just about some special people having unique abilities discovering their real purpose here on earth. To be honest, my interest now on Heroes is declining so fast. Everything only resulted because of the time-traveler’s fault, Hiro Nakamura, trying to change everything.

• House, MD



First of all, I’m a House fanatic. My favorite! **Hats-off** to David Shore. He created and produced one of the greatest TV series of all time. Try watching one episode and see for yourself what I mean. Every season just gets better one after another. House-Wilson tandem, House-Cuddy love team, House-Foreman-Chase-Cameron and House alone are all the best. I can’t say anything bad in this series but I could assure you, House, MD is a must watch series.

• How I Met Your Mother *
• Kyle XY *
• Lost



One of my favorite series as well. The series revolves around the mysterious island wherein a plane crashed in there. Lots of lives and personalities have been mixed up together trying to cooperate with one another in order to survive. Until, they met the others of the island and in here, lots of twist happened explaining how and why everything happened, etc. This is also a must watched TV series. Next year, as they premiere, the last season will be shown, explaining everything.

• MacGyver



MacGyver is brilliant! I remember watching this on TV when I was still a kid. I am amazed by hi common sense, practicality and resourcefulness despite the pressure and problems given to him. The series revolved around MacGyver who favors brain over brawn in order to solve desperate problems. MacGyver’s main asset is his practical application of scientific knowledge and inventive use of common items—along with his ever-present Swiss Army knife.

• Numb3rs



If you like mathematics so much, maybe you’ll like this too. Charlie Eppes, a mathematical genius, who solves crimes only by using math. The show focuses equally on the relationships between Don Eppes, his brother Charlie Eppes and their father.

• One Tree Hill



The show is set in fictional town Tree Hill in North Carolina and originally follows the lives of two half-brothers, Lucas Scott and Nathan Scott. Their relationship evolves from heartless enemies to caring brothers, and the basketball drama, as well as the brothers’ on-again/off-again romances with female characters, are significant elements within the series.

• Prison Break



This started as Michael Scofield entered the Fox River Penitentiary intentionally, to save his brother from receiving a death penalty. Lincoln Burrows who had been setup by the government, is incarcerated in the highest level facility of the said prison. The storyline flows as Michael, imprinted the whole floor plan on his body, discovering different passageways, recording time intervals, making friends, and encountering lots of obstacles including carrying excess baggages upon his perfectly planned escape. Season 1 started with a big blast but then gradually fell down as the “Prison Break” term began losing its meaning.

• Psych *
• Pushing Daisies



This series focuses the life of Ned, a pie-maker gifted with the mysterious ability to bring dead things back to life by touching them. There are some conditions to this somewhat unusual talent. Ned quickly learns that if something is revived for more than exactly one minute, something of similar “life value” in the vicinity drops dead, as a form of balance. Additionally, if he touches the revived person or thing a second time, it falls dead again, this time permanently. So, his first love, Charlotte “Chuck”, died and their love story still went on.. (watch it!) This might not be a great series, but this is worth watching :)

• Smallville



Obsession. Secrets. Words that could describe the series. Overview: It focuses on adventures of Clark Kent, who resides in a fictional town of Smallville, Kansas, during the years before he becomes Superman. Though it isn’t exactly a complete narration of the Superman’s graphic novels, this series is still great. A superhuman wanting to become normal but can’t fight with his fate. Obsessions over friendship is dealt here. Trust is something that is hard to be earned. It won’t last 9 seasons if it isn’t that great, yes? :)

• The Big Bang Theory *



A sitcom. Full of geeky conversation yet one of the funniest series I have watched. Two thumbs up to this series! One of my favorites. I never laughed this hard watching a foreign film.

• The Mentalist *
• The OC



The show focuses on the lives of several teenagers, among which was Ryan Atwood, a troubled teenager from a broken home who is adopted by the wealthy and philanthropic Sandy and Kirsten Cohen. Ryan and his surrogate brother Seth, an awkward and unpopular teenager about the same age as Ryan, deal with life as outsiders in the wild high-class world of Newport Beach.

• Vampire Diaries *
• Veronica Mars



Veronica Mars, a student who progresses from high school to college while moonlighting as a private investigator under the tutelage of her detective father. In each episode, Veronica solves a different stand-alone case while working to solve a more complex mystery. The first two seasons of the series had a season-long mystery arc, introduced in the first episode of the season and solved in the season finale. The third season took a different format, focusing on smaller mystery arcs that would last the course of several episodes. Kristn Bell is hot! :)

Almost every comments are just my personal opinions. I’m not a good critic, but I personally appreciate these series. Maybe later, i’ll post my own review to each and every collection I have :)
