Lost’s Series Finale was Epic!

May 25th, 2010 No comments

*I’m only speaking as a very big fan of Lost, not a critic*

With all those flashbacks, I can’t help crying again for the second time – first time was when Sun and Jin died in the submarine. It has been fun, suspenseful and simply.. epic. All these years of figuring and hammering out explanations.. I just enjoyed it enormously. All those questions, all those thoughts.. just seems irrelevant at this point. I feel like it does not matter anymore. But what does matter.. is letting go.

Lost is one of the best show ever and this finale was no exception to this shows perfection. It was a devastating epic and had the best emotional punch of anything I ever watched! It was full of amazing acting, a great plot. The final showdown of Jack vs. Locke lived up to expectations and was just as well done as it was exciting. It was nice to see all of the characters that made the show such a phenomenal at the end altogether. It saddens me knowing that I will most likely never love a show as much as I love Lost but I’m glad that I got to experience something as epic as this show.

I love how open the mystery still is.. I was worried that the explanations would be silly or ridiculous, but this really gave the story gravity and the ability to spawn much more thought and exploration in themes for years to come.. a beautiful conclusion.

This show was about people who were “Lost” not on an island full of answers that demanded mysteries, but lost from the people they needed to be completed.

It has been great 6 years to experience what I call a masterpiece. This episode was symbolic and character-driven instead of answering questions as some expect it to. The real question is, “Why do we need answers?” There is no need to question everything in Lost, and I draw a comparison to life. The island is not much more bizarre than life. Life is a mystery and we are all lost in this life of ours. There are some things that happened because it happened, and we assume it’s true. Call it ignorance, but that’s what made this episode so blissful in a peaceful way.

The finale unraveled a story so complex, more analyzed than any other show on television, to the core of what it’s been since September 22, 2004, a story of two simple concepts what it means to be lost in this world and what it means to be found.

It was never about searching for the truth about the island. It was about the characters and their journey to personal enlightenment.

I will surely miss Lost. :)

What will happen to Lost’s Series Finale?

May 23rd, 2010 1 comment

In about few hours, Lost will finally air its series finale. As a supporter for six years, as a fan of Lost, and as a person who is so much curious about what the Island is all about, later today I will have all my questions, answered.

I really can’t believe that it will finally end. I don’t want to be disappointed. I want to watch the best finale for the series. And, it would really really be much fulfilling if it would make me cry in the end.

Well, let me layout some of rants before the ending first.

  • I really hate that they made me to tears when Jin and Sun died in that submarine. I mean, it’s the worst and the most dramatic scene I have ever seen in the whole series yet.
  • I also hated that they killed Juliet. I thought she would really have a big part towards the ending finding their purpose on the island.
  • I also hated that they killed Charlie in the end of season 4. He’s one of my favorite character, aside of course from Sawyer and Hurley.
  • Kate’s character is being overshadowed already. It seems like she doesn’t exists anymore.
  • I also hated when they didn’t give Sayid a more proper ending. It’s like he just turned 180 degrees, then boom, he’s dead.

And here are some of the question I have in my mind that I think isn’t yet answered:

  • And what the hell is Ben’s role in the series? Is he really with the good guys or the bad guys?
  • What’s with the competition between Charles Whitmore and Ben Linus?
  • Now that Jack is already like Jacob, a caretaker, what will now happen to Hurley, Sawyer, and Kate?
  • What is exactly Desmond’s role in the whole event?
  • What now will happen to the black smoke?
  • Clare? Miles? Richard? Frank Lapidus? What would be the fate of this people on the island?
  • I still have so many questions to ask.. and I can’t anymore remember everything.

A message from me as fan: No matter what happens in the end, I really really hope for the best. I want to congratulate the Main Cast of the series, the staffs, the crew, the fans, and the people who supports the show. It’s really a great series. It really takes my breath away. Thank you Lost! Give it your best later! It’s a great six years being terrified, floored, left speechless, depressed, happy, glad, and contented. Thank you! :)

TV series collection

October 30th, 2009 2 comments

For the last couple of years, when we started to have a broadband connection, I also started downloading a lot TV series, movies and animes for my personal entertainment. I could say that I am a collector but I am not addicted nor a hardcore download-er, promoting piracy. I only maximize my broadband connection by using a low-power consumption computer, downloading 24/7. I only download based on forums, especially the top rated series, and programs recommended by my friends.

Here’s an image of my collection (roughly about 670GB worth of data, and 2 1/2 years worth of download):
