Passion! Persistence! Pizza!

I made this post because, last saturday after the kick-off party of Firefox @ 5 here in the Philippines, Randal, Rystraum, Kuya Mark, Kuya Wali, Aica and I thought about Kuya JM. Where is he right now? and as far as I could remember, logo for our UnPLUG was the last conversation I had with him. And second, Kuya Gerry is asking where he could find a logo for his AVP :)

So, where is Kuya JM?

unplug

*Hats-Off* to Kuya JM for our logo!

Ang source files ay makukuha rito:
http://groups.google.com/group/usapan/web/UnPLUG_Tuxblation-spiral_logo_seal.tar.gz

GPL/OFL-licensed fonts lang yung ginamit i.e. Linux Libertine (http://linuxlibertine.sourceforge.net/) at Jura (http://openfontlibrary.org/media/files/Daniel_J/359).

Here’s a link of the other proposed logo for our organization :)

Paranormal Activity

November 1st, 2009 No comments

My cousins went off telling crazy stories about this movie, so my sibling demanded that they want to watch this too. So, I downloaded a copy from the internet and watched it with them. I’m speechless. I can’t say a word from the ‘paranormal’ activities that I have seen. It’s so creepy, weird and really scary.

Do you know what’s happening on your sleep? Read more…

TV series collection

October 30th, 2009 2 comments

For the last couple of years, when we started to have a broadband connection, I also started downloading a lot TV series, movies and animes for my personal entertainment. I could say that I am a collector but I am not addicted nor a hardcore download-er, promoting piracy. I only maximize my broadband connection by using a low-power consumption computer, downloading 24/7. I only download based on forums, especially the top rated series, and programs recommended by my friends.

Here’s an image of my collection (roughly about 670GB worth of data, and 2 1/2 years worth of download):

Guide: Jailbreak/Unlock iPhone 3.0 using Redsn0w for iPhone 2G

October 22nd, 2009 1 comment

This is just a documentation, an idiot-friendly guide and collection of all necessary information needed to Unlock/Jailbreak. As an iPhone user, I would just like to repost the best solutions, share the knowledge and answers to our questions I found on the Internet in Unlocking/Jailbreaking iPhone 2G (First Generation).

What is Jailbreak?

Jailbreaking is a process that allows iPhone and iPod Touch users to run unofficial code on their devices bypassing Apple’s official distribution mechanism, the App Store. Once jailbroken, iPhone users are able to download many applications previously unavailable through the App Store via unofficial installers such as Cydia and Icy.

Note:

  • This jailbreak guide is designed for Windows user.
  • You can use this guide to jailbreak & unlock only iPhone 2G (the 1st generation iPhone)
  • If you’re using lower version of firmware (e.g. 1.1, 2.0, 2.1 or 2.2), you can also follow the jailbreak procedures to upgrade the firmware to 3.0. But please note that you’ll have to re-install all the Cydia applications after upgrade. And, at the time I write this post, not all Cydia applications (e.g. Backgrounder, iRealSMS, MySMS, BossTool, Quickgold) are compatible with iPhone 3.0. So, if you have any cydia applications that you rely on, please ensure its compatibility before upgrading.

Now, let’s get started.

  1. First, make sure you have upgraded to latest iTunes version and backup your iPhone data by synchronizing it with iTunes.
  2. If you’re upgrading the iPhone from older version of firmware, make sure you sync the iPhone with iTunes. This ensures all your SMS, contacts and applications can be restored after the firmware upgrade.

  3. Download Redsn0w 0.8, Bootloader 3.9 & 4.6 and iPhone firmware 3.0. Save them all in the same folder. And unzip redsn0w-win_0.8.zip. So make sure you have all the files in place before proceeding to next step.
